LOS ANGELES: Elvis Presley, the late “king” of rock-and-roll and former fixture in Las Vegas, will receive a symbolic return to Sin City with a reconstruction of his concerts and an exhibition, promoters said on Thursday.

A slate of homages to the American singer, whose music career began in the 1950s, starts April 23 with a gala attended by ex-wife Priscilla Presley, Graceland holdings and Westgate Resorts said.

The permanent exhibition will feature items from a collection held in his “Graceland” mansion in Memphis, Tennessee and will trace the life and career of the superstar.

Fans will be able to see his first gold record, his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, his car and his stage costumes.

Presley died in 1977 at 42 after rising to mega-stardom for his high-tempo takes on blues music that broke ground for the US rock scene.

Live reproductions of Presley’s concerts will be produced with an impersonator and take place in the same room the star performed in between 1969 and 1976, the promoters said.
