ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Aviation Advisor Shujaat Azeem has said Pakistan air traffic is safe and more than 600 international flights fly over the country.
He said this while talking to a private news channel days after the warning of the European Air Safety Agency (EASA).
EASA had issued a warning to national aviation authorities and aircraft operators to exercise "extreme caution" while flying in Pakistani airspace.
It issued a notice on its website stating that the "potential" of terrorist attacks in Pakistan has led to an increased risk for airlines.

He said he discussed the issue with French officials and clarified that the warning is not Pakistan specific but it is also for other countries.
“Our airspace is safe for traffic. EASA's warning is a precautionary step that is issued not only for Pakistan but also for eight other countries.” he said.

Normal flying height for commercial airlines is atleast 38000 feet above the sea level and Terrorists don't have BUK missiles to hit them at that height. EASA warning is irresponsible and lack of facts. There is no danger in flying in Pakistani airspace.

Pakistan, a dangerous place? Really? Says who? I don't believe it. We have no more danger than any comparable country. Now Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, etc are dangerous to fly over let alone travel to & through by any mode of transport.

This is a reality because we r not safe on ground then how can we promise safety of international air lines passing our airspace. Terrorists can acquire made in usa stingers our Russian made anti aircraft missile or such stuff from west and attack some air craft in our skies?? I am very distrubed why all this happens by use of western weapons of human destruction but in the end only Pakistan is blamed why these perpetrators of terror are not held accountable for spread of weapons.

ir-repairable damage construed deliberately by EASA... do we stand any chance to sue them ? if not - why / should our govt step up and clarify as to why no ?
on what flimsy grounds EASA issued such a warning ? if they hold credible pre-hand info in this respect they should have shared this with us... no matter what, we are a UN member and parliamentary systems exists no matter how corrupt and inept that is....
if our govt let go this without befitting reply then stop this war on terror, join hands Talibans and get peace.... if we cannot do this at least protest this outrageous, deceitful and tacitly placed allegation which may eventually harm us badly in near future.
