TOBA TEK SINGH: A boy killed his father and injured his stepmother here on Thursday.

According to Arrouti police, Ghulam Abbas, of Chak 694/35 GB, had recently married his widowed sister-in-law Zahida Parveen, after the death of his wife.

His son, Shahbaz, opposed the marriage. On Thursday, he opened fire on his father and the stepmother leaving them injured. His father died before reaching hospital while his stepmother was rushed to Arrouti rural health centre from where she was referred to the Toba DHQ Hospital due to her critical condition.

FIRE: A fire broke out in a room of the Fesco complex late on Wednesday due to which office record was burnt.

An official told Dawn the fire erupted due to a short circuit and the room of disconnection and reconnection section at the SDO office caught fire. Rescue 1122 firefighters controlled the fire.

In another fire in Faiz Colony’s house of Siddiq, most of electronics and other valuables were burnt.
