QUETTA: The Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court, Mr Justice Muhammad Noor Meskanzai, has set up special benches of court in Quetta and Sibi to try anti-terrorism cases on a daily basis for their speedy conclusion.

A meeting held here on Wednesday discussed the matter in the light of a decision taken by the Chief Justice of Pakistan in Islamabad on Dec 24 last year.

The meeting directed heads of institutions concerned and judges of anti-terrorism courts to implement the decision in letter and spirit.

The chief justice directed the authorities to provide adequate security to witnesses appearing before courts in terrorism-related cases and take up such cases on a daily basis for the sake of issuing quick verdicts.

The chief justice ordered the secretary of prosecution, government of Balochistan, to take steps for setting up forensic laboratory and the home secretary to get Levies officials trained in the judicial academy to make the investigation process quick and correct.

The meeting decided to shift the anti-terrorism court No 1 and 2 from the Kutchery to sessions court building.
