Education Watch: Discounted books come to FJWU

Students at Fatimah Jinnah Women’s University took keen interest in the three-day book fair organised at their campus. Girls browsed through the vast collected brought by the 13 book vendors who has set up stalls and bought books at discounted prices.

Speaking at the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Samina Amin Qadir said that books have a great which remain relevant in the digital era.

“The university has provided a great opportunity for students to take advantage from scholarly knowledge contained in these books,” she said and added that reading books expands one’s horizons.

The book fair was also appreciated by faculty members who were seen buying books. Initially, the book fair was planned for two days but on Thursday, the university administration asked the vendors to extend it for one more day.

“The annual book fair also gives us a chance to research and select some course books for students,” said a faculty member, at the book fair.
