MULTAN: The district coordination officer has said some suspects have been identified in connection with the alleged Daesh (Islamic State) wall-chalking appearing in the city about a week ago.

Talking to the media here on Thursday, DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal said the investigations were under way and intelligence agencies were working on the issue. He said action would be taken against the elements involved in the wall-chalking in the light of the probe findings.

“So far no arrest has been made in this regard,” he added.

Refusing to disclose the names of the suspects and the organisations they belonged to, the DCO said the matter was being investigated.

He said the chief minister had approved the first phase of Metro Bus Project that would begin from Bahauddin Zakariya University. The estimated cost of the project was Rs25 billion, he added.

He said Khanewal Road project got delayed because of laying of sewers and planning of Metro Bus Project. He said land would be acquired to make the road one-way and the chief minister had ordered completion of the project without delay.

He hoped Head Muhammadwala breach would be plugged within a month.
