LAHORE: Classical singer Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan has appealed to the government and the affluent to extend financial help to harmonium player Shahid Kamal Bobby who is suffering from a chronic ailment.

In a joint press conference with Rafaqat Ali Khan and Arif Lohar at the Punjab Institute of Language Art and Culture (Pilac), Shafqat requested the Punjab and federal governments to bear expenses for the treatment of the ailing artiste.

Bobby has been suffering from heart issues for a month and a half, while the left side of his body has been paralysed.

Shafqat’s spokesman Shahid Husain told the media Pilac had promised financial assistance to the ailing artiste.
