LANDI KOTAL: Armed men killed a local resident and kidnapped principal of a private school in separate incidents in Bara area here on Monday.

Sources said that unidentified gunmen forcibly entered the house of Attaullah in Shalobar area and killed him on the spot. The attackers managed to escape after the incident. Reason behind the killing could not be known as nobody took responsibility of the killing.

Also in Shalobar area, activists of a banned organisation abducted Gulab Gul, principal of a local private school.

Meanwhile, abductors on Monday released Dr Shaukat Afridi after almost three months. Family sources said that Dr Afridi safely reached home early in the morning. He was kidnapped on June 18 while on way home after attending his private clinic. His captors had earlier demanded Rs5 million from his family. The family, however, denied paying any compensation to the kidnappers.
