KARACHI: Mohammad Bin Younis continued where he left off last season as his brace helped Karachi Port Trust (KPT) begin their Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) campaign with a 2-0 win over Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) here on Sunday.

Last season’s top-scorer Mohammad opened the scoring at the KPT Stadium with a 19th-minute penalty before adding his second four minutes past the hour mark. KPT next face K-Electric on Wednesday. K-Electric were 1-0 winners over National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on Saturday.

Muslim FC top the fledgling table on goal difference after their 3-0 victory over Baloch FC Quetta in Sunday’s other match at the KMC Stadium.

The architect of their victory was Mohammad Hanif who scored a second-half hat-trick against the league’s new boys.

Baloch FC did well to stop Muslim FC in the first-half but Hanif drew first blood in the 57th minute. He added his second 12 minutes later before completing his treble five minutes from time.
