NEW YORK: United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon speaks at a UNSC meeting on the Ebola outbreak here on Thursday.—AFP

UNITED NATIONS: The UN Security Council on Thursday adopted a resolution declaring the Ebola outbreak a threat to world peace and security, calling on countries to provide urgent aid.

The resolution was adopted unanimously after UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon warned that the number of Ebola infections was doubling every three weeks.
