KARACHI: The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee and the Anti-violent Crime Cell claimed on Monday to have recovered a 10-year-old boy and arrested his kidnapper.

Abdullah was kidnapped on June 19 from a DHA area while returning home from a seminary. His family living in Baloch Colony had received a call for ransom. They initially paid the money through an ‘easy paisa’ facility to the kidnapper, but when they were asked to pay Rs10 million they contacted the CPLC.

CPLC chief Ahmed Chinoy formed a joint investigation team of the AVCC and CPLC after a case was registered. The team with the help of technical and intelligence data identified the location of the kidnapper.

On Monday morning, the team raided a house in Shah Faisal Colony and recovered the boy safely. Kidnapper Mehboob Ali was arrested, along with his accomplices.
