ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday suspended the termination of the member scrutiny committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Arbab Altaf Hussain through his counsel had challenged the termination of his contract by PCB Chairman Najam Sethi on March 28, 2014.

In the petition, Mr Hussain cited the secretary sports board, patron-in-chief of the PCB, the ministry of inter-provincial coordination, the PCB through its chairman interim management committee (IMC) Najam Sethi and the members of the IMC as respondents.

The petitioner adopted before Justice Noorul Haq N. Qureshi that he was appointed as the PCB member scrutiny committee on January 22, 2014.

He said he had worked in Wapda sports department for more than 25 years and based on his experience he was selected for the PCB post.

He alleged that the termination notice was discriminatory and an act of political victimisation.

The court after suspending the termination order sought a reply from the PCB authorities.
