KARACHI: While the Karachi police were busy in a ceremony to pay tributes to slain policemen at the Police Headquarters, Garden, assailants struck again not far from the venue of the programme and shot dead a police constable and wounded his colleague on Sunday evening.
Saddar SP Salman Hussain said that constable Noman and assistant sub-Inspector Sohail were patrolling on a motorcycle near the Dow Medical College roundabout when four assailants on two motorbikes fired at them and rode away.
The wounded were taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where Noman was pronounced dead. He suffered a bullet wound in the head, while ASI Sohail was hit in the leg.
