KHAIRPUR: Six people were killed and 13 others injured in a road accident near the Sui Gas bus stop within the jurisdiction of Thari Mirwah police station in Sindh’s Khairpur district on Tuesday morning.

The Karachi-bound passenger bus travelling from Uch Sharif in Bahawalpur overturned on the National Highway after it skidded off the road due to over speeding.

Six people died on the spot. All bodies and injured were shifted to Taluka Hospital Thari Mirwah for medico-legal formalities and treatment respectively.

Pakistan has a poor road safety record with bad roads, speeding vehicles and poor driving among the contributing factors.
