ISLAMABAD: President Asif Zardari has said that the PPP itself rejected writing a letter to Swiss court over cases against him and further stated it would be like having a trial over the grave of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
During an interview with a private television, President Zardari discussed a number of issues dealing with current issues that are plaguing his government.
Among the the subjects he gave his view on included the Memogate scandal, the alleged rift between the civilian government and the military, and the continuing tussle with the Judiciary.
Zaradri said that there was a great deal of hype surrounding the memogate issue and that it was overblown out of proportion. He said that the Parliamentary committee decision on memo case will be accepted.
He said that the civilian government had no problem with either the army or the judiciary.
The president said that Prime Minister Gilani's statement in the parliament over responsibility of giving Osama bin Laden a visa was directed not at the military itself but rather towards former president Pervez Musharraf's military dictatorship.
On the subject of Musharraf himself, the president stated that a trial against him should not be held because it would have a demoralising effect on the armed forces.
Zardari also said that he was willing to talk to PML-N Nawaz Sharif on setting a date for elections, ahead of schedule. When asked as to what he was willing to offer the public for another tenure in government, he said "Roti, kapra aur makan".

Roti capra aur makan is good but what good does it do when you have no bati,gas and cng.How is one suppose to sit in the dark cold makan and you can't cook the roti because you got no gas.Even when you do get all those things,they are so expensive that you can't afford to eat,live and try to earn your income(cng)So it will be the same ol same ol,no moving forward,no getting better,no light at the end of the tunnel.

you are trying your best to play all the cards which connected with the emotions of people party's members. If here is a case in court of law and court wants to exercise it's jurisdiction then it should happen and no one should have any power to prevent the proceeding. If he is not guilty then why he is so stubben and trying all his best to stop he action, in reality he is guilty and he should be punished for that. All Pakistanies should be in the favour of the trial.

Mr. Zardari is the one who wants Zulfiqar Bhutto's case revived in our courts and does not want BB's image vindicated in the books of history? On my advise BB published the weaknesses and inadequacies of her trials and court's proceedings involving international jurists. Let the truth absolve her of various allegations.

Charges and counter charges are parts of democracy in the world and so is the vindication - failed or otherwise.
But, please, you try to insult your own military even in Canada or America or any where, they will say that you are sick in the head.That is the only reason for me not liking Asma Jahangir or Haqqani because they have talked and written enough against our military, whose people - officers or the regulars have signed their lives away for the defence of the country.
Anything else is tolerable to some degree or even more or most degree.Any thing else exists as vice or otherwise to more or less extent anywhere in the world. Certainly, Paks don't want the country to pass through up-heaval in these difficult times- internally and externally as well.

What is wrong with it, if anyone has done wrong-doing it should be investigated. Why does it becomes sentimental issue, if Zardari or/Benazir did/did'nt do wrong, it should be investigated and cleared. If they are innocent then they should ask for trial to get rid of the allegations.

If President of a Country is not going to obey the Supreme Court's Orders then there is no Rule of Law in the Country. President is NOT ABOVE the LAW particularly related to looting the National Wealth. Remember Everyone has to answer before GOD one Day.

Having watched Zardaris full interview on GeoTV reminded one of Nero who was fiddling whilst Rome burnt to cinders and one of the European Royals who asked people to eat cake if there was no bread to be found. This man is in total denial and it is a shame that no one in his party is able to speak up and show him the mirror.Roll on 16th of January(ides of march).The end is nigh!
