CHAKWAL, June 18: A serviceman was gunned down over a marriage dispute here on Saturday night.

Sources told Dawn that Amina Parveen, resident of Dhok Parhal in tehsil Talagang, married Mohammad Asim, a soldier of Pakistan Army, a few weeks ago without the consent of her family.

On Saturday night, Lal Khan, father of Amina, stormed the house of her daughter along with his two sons Mohammad Khan and Mohammad Imran and opened fire on the newly-wed couple killing Mohammad Asim on the spot.

Amina sustained serious injuries. She was rushed to the THQ hospital from where she was referred to Rawalpindi due to her critical condition.

Lawa police registered a case and launched a hunt for the alleged killers who had disappeared from the scene.
