KARACHI, Aug 13: Paceman Yasir Ali spearheaded Pakistan Academy to an impressive nine-wicket victory over touring South African Academy team at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Right-armer Yasir, who played one Test against Bangladesh two seasons ago, followed his six for 59 in the first innings with four for 33 in the second innings to end with match haul of 10 for 92.

He received good support from left-arm medium-pacer Najaf Shah, who claimed three for 28, as SA Academy crashed to 118 in their second innings after having made 248 in their first outing.

The four-day match ended just before stumps on the third day. Needing 131 in the remaining 28 overs of the day, Nasir Jamshed and Shahid Yousuf saw the hosts through with an unbroken 111-run second wicket stand.

Shahid smashed an unbeaten 63 in 72 balls with 12 boundaries and a six while Jamshed hit six fours in his 51 not out.

Earlier Pakistan Academy resuming at their overnight score of 220 for seven wickets were bowled out for 236 in their first innings with Zulqarnain Haider failing to add to his score of 76.

Pacers Ugasen Govender (4-54) and Mario Oliver (3-55) shared the bowling honours.

However, the tourists found themselves in all sorts of trouble and were bundled out for 118 in 41.4 overs.
