In pictures: Extreme weather hits various parts of Pakistan
At least 75 people have lost their lives in weather-related weather-related incidents reported over the past few days.
With rain and snowfall continuing in many parts of the country, this is being termed as one of the worst winters Pakistan has witnessed.
Extreme weather conditions have caused at least 75 deaths in the country up till now. The worst-hit was Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), where the death toll from incidents of snow-sliding stood at 61 according to the latest reports. Balochistan was also severely affected as heavy rains across the province claimed 20 lives.
People, particularly tourists, have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel in snowbound and landslide-prone areas during the prevailing weather conditions.

They need to clear snow of roofs. That's why buildings are collapsing. Check snow removal videos on YouTube.

They should introduce winter tires in Pakistan. Many cars slip and bump due to lack of traction. Houses in these areas should have slopped roofs.

In very cold temperatures, the snow is light weight and gets blown away with little wind. When the temperature is around freezing point , the snow is heavy and it needs to be removed from roof-tops constantly, even while it is still snowing, otherwise the roof will collapse. People need to be educated on this by the local authorities. Volunteers should help the elderly in snow removal to prevent structural failures.

The entire Pakistani Housing infrastructure is made of flimsy material cannot uphold against harsh weather patterns. It is a reality that more like this events are on its way so well prepare people not to sit bare feet in snow with shalwar kameez. Govt to create awareness and start donation campaign for winter clothing's ASAP

@Yasar, The roofs must be made in triangle shape to allow self snow removal but under heavy snow same events happened in Canada too

What a beautiful scenery and the whole area could be converted into ski paradise like Austria/France/Switzerland. It is a pity India and Pakistan spending fortune on arms and instead build hotels/ski resorts/ and convert it into Austria/Switzerland in the East. The money poured by both countries in the frozen Himalayan valleys could be used for promoting tourism to benefit local economy that will benefit both countries.
