KARACHI: Suspended top-order batsman Khalid Latif on Monday vehemently denied all allegations of corruption against him in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Right-handed Khalid, who along with Test opener Sharjeel Khan was sent back to Pakistan last Friday after being suspended provisionally by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s anti-corruption unit for violating the anti-corruption code in the opening match of PSL in Dubai, insisted he has done nothing wrong.
Khalid, 31, was surrounded by media personnel while he was leaving to meet his lawyer. They sought his statement regarding his suspension over corruption allegations.
While dismissing those who queried about his alleged involvement in the corruption scandal, Khalid claimed he was innocent.
“God is my witness, I have never done anything wrong,” Khalid, who has also represented Pakistan in five ODIs and 13 Twenty20 Internationals, told reporters in a brief response before leaving.
