KARACHI: An old family dispute took an ugly turn on Saturday afternoon when a man and his son were killed in an exchange of fire with his brother and two relatives in an under-construction bungalow in Nazimabad.

The three wounded attackers were arrested following the incident, police said.

According to Karachi Central SSP Muqadas Haider, Qadeem Khan was supervising construction of his bungalow in Nazimabad-2 near Chhota Maidan when his brother, Khateeb Gul aka Attaur Rehman, with two relatives, Saeedullah and Asad, stormed the place and opened fire on him.

In the ensuing exchange of fire, five persons were wounded. They were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced Qadeem Khan and his son, Abdullah, dead on arrival. The attackers, Khateeb Gul, Saeedullah and Asad, were admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The SSP said the two brothers had an old matrimonial dispute though the installation of a water line in the under-construction bungalow triggered violence.

Nazimabad SHO Mazhar Iqbal said all the wounded persons had been taken into custody for interrogation.
