PESHAWAR: The Apex Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday reviewed the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) and discussed matters related to the return process of displaced persons with special focus on overall law and order situation in the province and Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra chaired the meeting which was also attended by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Peshawar Corps Commander Lt Gen Hidayatur Rehman and senior officials of the relevant departments, said an official statement here.

The committee discussed in detail the current law and order situation prevailing in the province and Fata and reviewed the progress on implementation of the previous decisions and the return process of displaced persons in tribal areas.

The committee also reviewed the progress on the implementation of NAP and expressed its satisfaction on the progress and directed to take further steps in this regard.

The meeting was also briefed about the pace of progress on the ongoing security measures as well as the repatriation and rehabilitation arrangements in the affected areas.

It was decided in the meeting that expeditious steps would be taken to ensure the dignified repatriation of displaced people to their homes. It was decided that the blocking of illegal SIMs being used for criminal activities would be strictly ensured and further steps would be taken in this regard.

The meeting also reviewed progress on measures taken with regard to the elimination of illegal transactions.
