KARACHI: Inspired by another blistering half-century from in-form opener Naved Malik, Rivo Mobile sealed an impressive eight-wicket win against Agha Steel in the 30th Karachi Gymkhana Omar Associates Ramazan Cricket Festival at the KG Ground here on Tuesday.

After curtailing their opponents to 119-7 in the allotted 20 overs, Rivo Mobile romped home with no less than 31 deliveries left unused. Man-of-the-match Naved Malik set up the win with an entertaining display as his side reached 120-2.

The right-hander from Rawalpindi struck eight boundaries and one six to make 50 from 33 balls. Skipper Umar Amin scored a sedate run-a-ball 25 that featured one six and a four.

After Naved and Umar departed, wicket-keeper/batsman Jamal Anwar and the left-handed Ayaz Tasawwar completed the final rites. Jamal hit one six in making an 18-ball 22, while Ayaz contributed 20 off 14 balls with two hits to the fence.

Earlier, opener Ahmed Hussain was the chief run-getter for Agha Steel with a 28-ball knock of 33, including three fours and two sixes.

Paceman Umaid Asif and spin duo of Samiullah and Zahid Mansoor claimed two wickets each.

Summarised scores:

AGHA STEEL 119-7 in 20 overs (Ahmed Hussain 33, Deenar Azeem 18; Umaid Asif 2-10, Samiullah 2-18, Zahid Mansoor 2-25); RIVO MOBILE 120-2 in 14.5 overs (Naved Malik 50, Umar Amin 25, Jamal Anwar 22 not out, Ayaz Tasawwar 20 not out).
