KARACHI: Five suspected gangwar criminals were killed in two separate pre-dawn shootouts in Karachi's Lyari Town on Saturday, Sindh Rangers claimed in a press release issued today.
According to the press release, the Rangers in collaboration with police conducted a targeted operation in Lyari Town's Chakiwara area against criminals associated with the gangwar in the locality.
When law enforcement personnel reached near the suspected criminals' hideout, they started indiscriminate firing and tried to escape. During the encounter, three of them were killed and few others managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

Those killed have been identified as Majid alias Rickshaw Wala, Abdul Samad alias Mulla and Imam Bux alias Khairo. The three were reportedly associated with the Uzair Baloch group of Lyari gangwar, the Rangers said in the press release.
Meanwhile, another encounter took place during a separate joint operation in Lyari's Behar Colony area. Two suspected criminals Arslan alias Mulla and Junaid alias Kaka were killed during the encounter.
Both were reportedly associated with the Baba Ladla group, a rival gang of the Uzair Baloch group.
All five killed were reportedly involved in heinous crimes including, murders, kidnapping for ransom, robberies and extortion.
Law enforcement personnel also claim to have recovered weapons during the targeted operation.

I forgot to keep counting the deaths of gang war criminals killed so far in Lyari by Rangers. If the reports are not cosmetic, then the death toll may surpass the lyari population. Another food for thought for the listeners and viewers.

When you are at war the person who shoots at ya is an enemy. He will kill you if you don't defend yourself. Waiting for a judge and attorney or dialling 911 may cost your life. FYI.

Our political leaders let this cancer grow: in some cases they themselves were involved in criminal activities, also they did not have the courage to tackle this problem.
It is quite clear our politicians are not fit to run the country and will lead the country to it's eventual destruction. Learn from Bangkadesh experience. And today it is doing better than Pakistan.

Great job. And for those who say only MQM is being targeted, this proves that the operation is across the board.
I also notice in the comments that PPP has become active against this operation by extra judicial. These guys opened fire and we're trying to run. There is nothing extra judicial here.

@asad But the human rights organizations and courts are freeing them by saying that there is no evidence. When these things happen then extra judicial killings will happen because LEAs are considering that it is better to kill them instead of arresting because they will be freed again.

You know the meaning of extra judicial killing ? these criminals were killed in a shoot out with the LEAs, they were not killed after they were arrested, that is what is called extra- judicial killing.

@asad when LEAs carry out an operation, it is to arrest. But if the suspects start indiscriminate firing and are killed in the counter fire, you can hardly call that extra judicial. Or has your logic also been killed in an encounter

It is all good when those who want to bring order in Karachi, but they need to lead by example. When Rangers are making and selling blocks and other construction stuff from illegally occupied university land they are not setting any example. Illegal is illegal.

Only solution is if rangers kill the criminals on the spot .
If they arrest them and take them to courts then we know who the judges are. The criminals get released and start killing them again.
So the solution is what rangers are doing now , kill them on the spot when it's possible. Well done rangers. The public is with you.
