LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif at a meeting approved on Monday the proposed project of setting up a special economic zone and a new city in Salt Range near Motorway, says a handout.

He said the project would promote industrial, economic and trade activities. He directed the immediate implementation of the project, saying prominent international consultants should be hired as the project would generate jobs.

The planning and development chairman briefed the participants about the project.

Provincial Minister for Industry Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq, Minister for Housing Tanvir Aslam Malik and MPA Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha were present.
