Man found dead in Lahore airport lavatory

LAHORE: The body of a youth was recovered from a men's washroom at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

The deceased was the son of a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) employee. His body was recovered from a washroom located on the 4th floor of the airport.

According to an initial investigation, the youth, who was prone to taking drugs, died of an apparent drug overdose.

His body has been shifted to a mortuary and further investigation into the death is under way.

According to a National Drug Use Survey-2013 con­duc­ted and launched by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Punjab has the high­est num­ber of people who use drugs, with 2.9 mil­lion peo­ple us­ing il­lic­it sub­stan­ces and 260,000 in­ject­ing drugs.
