Rabel Sadozai, the director of marketing and sales at Fatima Fertilizer, has been named Sustainability Leader of the Year at the Women Leading Change Awards Asia-Pacific 2025, held in Hong Kong. This prestigious regional honour recognises female leaders driving impactful transformation across the Asia-Pacific region.

Sadozai’s award underscores her outstanding leadership in reshaping Pakistan’s agriculture and fertiliser sectors through sustainable practices, gender empowerment and environmental responsibility. Under her direction, Fatima Fertilizer became the first Pakistani company to officially collaborate with the United Nations Development Programme by adopting the Sustainable Development Goals Impact Framework in 2024.

“It is an incredible honour to receive this recognition among such inspiring changemakers from across Asia-Pacific,” said Sadozai. “At Fatima Fertilizer, sustainability is not just an objective but the cornerstone of our mission to secure Pakistan’s food security and support our farming communities, particularly women. As the first company in the country to implement the SDGs Impact Framework in partnership with UNDP, we are devoted to advancing global priorities such as climate action, gender parity and the eradication of hunger through innovation, clean energy, water stewardship and inclusive climate-smart agriculture.”

She has been instrumental in influencing policy and championing the importance of sustainable agriculture on national platforms. Her leadership was key to the creation of the Salam Kissan initiative, which led to the establishment of Pakistan’s first official Kissan Day, observed annually on December 18. This landmark achievement, formally acknowledged by the government, celebrates the role of farmers and supports the broader movement for agricultural progress.

Sadozai’s efforts have positioned Fatima Fertilizer as a leading voice in sustainability within the industry and encouraged other organisations to align with international ESG standards.

The Women Leading Change Awards honour women breaking new ground, redefining leadership and shaping the future across business, sustainability, technology and innovation. The event reflects Campaign Asia-Pacific’s strong commitment to fostering diversity, inclusion and equality throughout the region.
