Arçelik, parent company of Dawlance, expands footprint in Pakistan with state-of-the-art R&D center at NUST

The new Arçelik R&D center is set to drive software development and support all of the company's subsidiaries worldwide.

Home appliance manufacturer Arçelik, the parent company of Dawlance, has opened its second research and development (R&D) center in Pakistan at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). The new center is aimed at fostering innovation in the country and accelerating Arçelik’s efforts to grow its presence in the Pakistani market.

The R&D center, inaugurated with a ceremony attended by NUST officials, Arçelik executives and Pakistani officials, will focus on software development and support the needs of all Arçelik subsidiaries worldwide. Speaking at the event, Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu, president of consumer durables at Arçelik’s parent company Koç Holding, said: “We see Pakistan as a key developing market for local manufacturing, R&D and future export hubs.”

The CEO of Dawlance, Umer Ahsan Khan, added: “Arçelik’s partnership with NUST shows our commitment to foster technological advancements in Pakistan and enable the professional development of the youth. The young engineers at NUST will gain valuable experiences, by learning about Arçelik’s global quality standards, regulatory compliance and best practices.”

Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Dr. Rizwan Riaz, pro-rector of NUST RIC, said the partnership would enable the development and testing of IT solutions related to home appliances, helping Arçelik expand its footprint in Pakistan and other Asian countries.
