Students of today require a set of abilities and skills to surpass academic knowledge and learn life-skills that enable creative thinking, communication, leadership, initiative and the spirit of collaboration.

Recognising these varying needs, Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) has been serving the community of Pakistan for more than 15 decades by educating youth from all parts and economic backgrounds of the country. Its 155-year legacy has a proud history of pioneering new teaching methodologies that have changed the concept of education year after year.

FCCU is committed to its vision of providing students with tools they need to refine their talents and improve skills. The university does this by encouraging inquiry-based thinking and a critical thinking and learning approach that truly embraces the spirit of education.

There are 36 student societies covering a wide variety of interests; these societies offer students an opportunity to lead, learn and give back to the community.

Student life at the University is crowded with thoroughly engaging opportunities that are beyond the classroom where students learn leadership and management skills together. Each society is run solely by students with a relevant staff or faculty member as their advisor.

The Student Advising Center helps students on their path to graduation.

Beginning with students’ orientation and continuing throughout their time at FCCU, the goal of this center is to help students resolve issues that may prevent them from graduating on time.

The Center handles issues like degree audits, provision of guidance regarding courses and road maps directing them to appropriate offices for non-academic issues with focus on helping students explore their fields of interest.

A balanced focus on extracurriculars helps students stay fit physically as they go through their rigorous academic schedules.

The University's Sports Board organises, promotes and conducts several gaming activities.

The Sports Board features a very active intramural sports program with competition in athletics, basketball, cricket, football, hockey, table tennis, wrestling, lawn tennis and swimming.

Participation in inter-varsity competitions in many of these sports is part of the sports program. Sports facilities include an 8-lane standard 400m grass track, a short course (25m) swimming pool, six tennis courts, basketball courts, badminton courts, cricket, football, hockey and handball grounds and a table tennis hall and gym with clubs for all the major sport.

While it is important that students meet the academic criteria needed to be successful, FCCU recognises that many of its students hail from targeted populations and lower income group backgrounds. This is why the Financial Aid Office takes measures to prioritise and help such students.

In the past year FCCU awarded financial aid to 1,495 students.

For many students, safe residential spaces are essential to pursue higher education.

FCCU provides safe and secure housing for more than 997 undergraduate students and 498 college students which includes housing for 370 female students within the campus.

The University’s goal is to inculcate a sense of responsibility in students through different activities with special focus on teaching students how to live with each other irrespective of their race, class, creed, cultural and ethnic differences, ensuring that underprivileged but qualified students from areas outside Lahore are not forced to give up admission solely on the basis of financial need.
