You may see desert and sand, but Sindh is actually the land that has been home to one of the oldest civilisations in the world.

This film narrates just a few of the stories that make Pakistan legendary.

In this short film by Ammar Rehmani and Ahsan Ali of Shanakht Studio, Eva zu Beck narrates the story of the star-crossed lovers Sohni and Mahiwal, shares the legend of Udero Lal, and visits the shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.

Titled #PakistanIsLegendary, the film delves deeper into the legends and stories at the heart of Sindh, whose heroes might have long gone, but their spirit and their tale remain right here in these shrines and temples, as paintings and inscriptions.

This film was produced under the #PakistanIs project, an initiative of Dawn.com and German international broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW) to highlight and showcase stories that define the real meaning of Pakistan.

The project comprises of eight different films, and one film will be released every Saturday at 6pm on our social channels.
