Lyari, a small but densely populated town in the city of lights, is often seen and deemed as a breeding ground for talent. Amidst its chaotic yet fearless ways of living, Lyari has produced some of the nation’s top athletes and players.

Looking deep at the dreary atmosphere of this neighbourhood, a group of smiling faces look back at you. Surfacing through them is a passionate little boy, Adeel Hanif.

Surviving the harsh realities of an underdeveloped and underfunded town, Adeel took charge of his own destiny. Along with his little gang of friends, Adeel dedicated himself to practicing and perfecting his game skills by watching his favorite football players on YouTube.

Little did he know that a life-changing opportunity was about to come knocking right at his door step. Adeel was recognized by Karachi United, Karachi’s premier football club.

McDonald’s, with their long-stemmed involvement with charitable endeavors, learned of his unmatched skills and came forward to promote his talent through a video.

With the help of Karachi United, Adeel has now managed to hone his raw talent. In the last few months, he was chosen to train with FC Barcelona’s coaches and given the honour of representing his country in Doha.

All thanks to his mother, YouTube, Karachi United, and McDonald’s, Adeel has already taken the first step towards realizing his dearest dream.

Adeel's skill and determination is lauded all over Twitter on the hashtag #AdeelHanif.
