  • Micro USB cable

  • Charger

  • SIM ejector tool

  • Case

Built and design

The sleek OPPO F5 is light to touch and features a narrow bezel design. There are no buttons on the front face, making the 6 inch display the center of attention.

The device itself only weighs 152 grams, with a thickness of 7.5 mm which makes it convenient for one handed use.

Display

The F5 is OPPO’s first device to feature a full-screen FHD+ display. The vibrant 6 inch LTPS TFT display features an impressive resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, which means better photo editing and multimedia viewing.

The sharp display coupled with the F5’s processing power also makes it good for gaming.

Camera

The main feature of the OPPO F5 is its 20 megapixel AI powered front facing camera which promises to “capture the real you”. The camera’s F2.0 aperture and 1/2.8” sensor can offer better image quality with less noise in low light conditions.

The front facing camera also uses enhanced facial feature optimisation technology, with more than 200 positioning spots to enhance symmetry between features like eyes, cheekbones and jaw-line.

Additionally, the 16 megapixel rear camera also comes with an F1.8 aperture that gives better results in low light photography with minimum noise.

Under the hood

Powered by an Octa-Core processor and 4GB of RAM, the device can juggle multiple apps and tasks at the same time and supports file transfer speeds much faster than Bluetooth. Power consumption is kept at a minimum, and the device does not heat up under heavy use, with 40 percent increased function performance.

Sim and storage

The device is equipped with a triple slot tray which supports two Nano SIM cards and a memory card slot for expanding storage capacity up to 256GB.

Battery

With a 3200 mAh battery, the OPPO F5 easily allows for up to 12 hours of continuous use and supports quick charging.

Operating system

The F5 features the all new ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1, which provides the latest android features as well as security updates to make sure your data remains secure.

The new OS now supports split screen mode which allows enhanced multitasking for increased productivity.

While the device features a finger print scanner at the back, ColorOS 3.2 also gives users an alternative way to unlock their device faster. Just put your face in front of the device and it will instantly be unlocked. This feature is very useful for times when your hands are wet or oily from food.

Conclusion

The OPPO F5 picks up from where its predecessors left off and improves on OPPO’s flagship features like its selfie taking abilities. If the main focus of your smartphone use is to snap selfies, then the OPPO F5 is the device for you.

The price of the phone is yet to be revealed officially by the brand.
