Vending machines, though quite common abroad, are still not a frequent sight in Pakistan.

Vendi, currently Pakistan's largest vending machine network, aims to change this scenario.

Backed by Wavetec, one of Pakistan's oldest technology multinational firm, Vendi has installed more than a 100 vending machines across corporate offices, educational institutions and hospitals in Pakistan.

These machines stock over 50 brands of snacks, chocolates, and chilled drinks that provide a quick and convenient snack 24/7, especially when a run to the store is difficult to make.

“My team and I at Vendi have worked very hard for very long to be able to give Pakistan its first smart vending machine. Now, we need Pakistanis to provide Vendi a platform to grow our ecosystem of machines from a hundred to over five thousand machines and show the world what Pakistan is really capable of,” shared Nidal Faruq, Head of Sales and Marketing at Vendi.

Going cash-less, most of these machines accept digital payments via EasyPaisa and JazzCash. The machines also have a dedicated app, which enables you to locate your nearest Vendi, buy multiple items in one go, check live inventory levels, transfer balance to friends and purchase mobile credit.

Apart from snacks, Vendi machines also offer other facilities like making donations to The Citizen's Foundation and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust.

While the machines are a convenient option for a quick snack, they are also used for advertising digital signage, and have an LED ticker facility to share updates.

"Vendi provides great customer experience and convenience to fulfill snacking and caffeine needs on the go, said Ahmed Fraz Malik, CEO Wavetec and Vendi. "We have done this by establishing an ever growing network of technologically advanced and first of their kind smart vending machines in Pakistan."

Vendi plans to place 1000 more machines across offices, hospitals and universities by 2018.
