LAHORE: Chances to hold the PSL final here on March 5 are vanishing with every passing day as the Punjab government has yet not taken any decision in this regard.
PSL chairman Najam Sethi, who arrived here the other day from Dubai to have a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and other security officials did not receive an immediate positive response from the provincial government.
Sethi later tweeted, saying: “I just met CM Punjab. We are on track for PSL FINAL in Lahore. But we shall continue to monitor and review situation in the run-up.”
As there is not enough time left to complete arrangements for the final, it is better for everyone that the decision in this regard is taken soon.
On Feb 20, the PSL after consulting all the five franchises announced that the final of the PSL will be held in Lahore on March 5. But it seems the announcement was pre-mature as the major stakeholder, the government of Punjab, was not on board.
Sources told Dawn that in the meeting held on Friday, security agencies advised against holding a big event like the PSL final in Lahore in near future.

I hope sanity prevails and no such event is held in Pakistan until foreign players come here happily. Much has changed in the last 2 weeks and the security situation has been exposed big time. This final, if held in Lahore, can potentially become a nightmare for the country, don't take that risk. And finally it is not only about the security inside the stadium, but whole of Lahore on that day.

@Rahul Shoaib Mallick will not provide security cover to those players . Another SL like incident , PSL future will be doomed . Nobody will come to PSL even after that .

We are the ones who never pay attention to realities. If only by holding PSL final we will get an honour then why can't we feel disgraced or insulted at holding the whole PSL in another country..
Then why are we not taking part in curbing terrorists out of this country once for all and why we are running after temporary solution and expectations.
And finally what is the surety that after the PSL final there will be no more terror in the country.

@Dr. Salaria, Aamir Ahmad not at the cost of security of aam adami. if for a final a full proof security can be given then why not it can be provided to the aam adami of lahor in school, mall, restaurant, street. road , bazzar etc etc. Why it for special occasion and for special people for some special chosen day why not 365 days in a year.

Not holding PSL Final in Lahore in NOT an option.
We have been begging other nations to play in Pakistan that it's safe now.
Not holding it will argument to foreign teams for next 15 years not to play in Pakistan.
