An excellent cricketer and a super performing batsman of his time. He played several memorable innings during his career and was a thorough gentleman.

In India there used to be a sports weekly called Sports and Pastime in the Sixties . The magazine ran for several weeks an illustrated strip called "Play cricket the Hanif way."The strip was probably authored by Hanif himself. Also, there was an Indian bowler Ramakant Desai. He was called the nemesis of Hanif Mohammad. It appears only Ramakant could bowl out the great Pakistani player.
