I am finding it hilarious looking at those pictures that Junaid actually did a photoshoot for himself while going through that transition? LOL
Aug 01, 2014 02:42pm
There is no hypocrisy or contradiction in running a designer label with what your beliefs or if your are denouncing showbiz culture.
Aug 01, 2014 02:55pm
When a man is in love, there only two outcomes, either he becomes a husband or a philosopher.
Aug 01, 2014 03:01pm
Mashallah. If our young generation follow Junaid (or atleast his manners, attitude and behaviour style), what a country we will become. May Allah help us. Ameen.
Aug 01, 2014 03:46pm
Thanks to dawn to share, JJ is on right path, May Allah help him to seek Quran And hadith in better way.
Aug 01, 2014 04:04pm
Indeed, a confused member of 'moral police', JJ is innocent - a victim of propaganda, an escapist.
Muhammad Asif Khan
Aug 01, 2014 04:24pm
If what he does makes him happy then there is no wrong what he is doing. He is living his own life according to his own will.
Aug 01, 2014 04:27pm
only true will and devotion can lead a person to the path junaid is treading upon. may allah bless him
Aug 01, 2014 04:33pm
I just don't understand why this is even an issue. It is JJ's choice to select the path he believes in as long as he does not impose this on others. Although I am not as religious as JJ is, I commend his commitment and sacrifice. Most people would do anything to get the fame and life style he had in 90's but he decided to walk away from all that. May God give us the strength and courage to choose the right path.
Dr. Abdul Aziz
Aug 01, 2014 04:41pm
Respectable Junaid Jamshed's photograph with Noorani beard and white cap looks very handsome and decent. Oh please, why did you publish his previous indecent photographs. If this maskeen JJ has spitted over the previous false dirty life, we should encourage and appreciate his struggle for achieving current position.
Aug 01, 2014 04:41pm
Funny how molvis are big hyprocritc.. First they criticise America for supporting Israel and corruption our youth and then come in adds for American companies and get paid. Nothing wrong with it but for God's sake dont contradict your own words...
Dr. Abdul Aziz
Aug 01, 2014 04:45pm
@Abid please polish your mind and language. does it cost money to use nice words. Only very lucky peopleuse the nice words and top of nice words, when some reads, they say what a nice comment.
Aug 01, 2014 04:46pm
he is still an inspiration ; a living legend :) I really admire him.
Aug 01, 2014 04:47pm
JJ would'nt have stayed the path for so long if he wasn't satisfied with it. He has been on both side of the fence , If I may say so. So I believe he knows what he is doing. Those who agree with him could join him. Those who do not cannot be forced to join. He himself wasn't forced to join Jammat. And he too is not forcing others to do so. I therefore request all to show respect to others point of view.
Aug 01, 2014 04:53pm
He may be a bundle of contradiction s but hey nobody's perfect. At least he seems like a man at peace with himself.
Aug 01, 2014 05:04pm
this man is now trying to make his place in heaven by his pious activities after his hilarious life style in the 80s and 90s
Aug 01, 2014 05:06pm
JJ embodies the hypocritic nature of our Pakistani society. While faith is a personal matter, I despise some of the misogynistic and ignorant comments made by him over the years. JJ and his molvi lot would have us live a 6th century lifestyle all the while justifying their own lifestyle as being "Islamic". Just because you have a beard you don't become an expert in Islam.
Aug 01, 2014 05:27pm
JJ was a great signer. A big loss for music fans like myself.
Aug 01, 2014 05:34pm
My only advise to Junaid is the following. There
Aug 01, 2014 05:38pm
His restless soul to find the truth made him distinctive of others, what is worth commendation and should support this artist turn tableeghi soul for good
Aug 01, 2014 05:42pm
I believe JJ made a personal choice. We are not right to comment on his current life or his past life. The people who have commented above appear to be divided as to whether JJ's old life was "evil" or not. We should learn to respect all people - singers, artists, maulvis, naat-reciters, the rich, the poor - everybody. Islam is the way of peace, and not hatred.
Aug 01, 2014 05:47pm
Photo session during transition??? But we shouldn't interfere in some ones personal matters.
Aug 01, 2014 06:04pm
Did he really leave Music?? He did sing Dil Dil Pakistan twice this Ramzan in Ramzan transmissions (with Music) ............ or is there a separate permission for singing patriotic songs with music in Islam? :p must be a special permission from someone in Raiwind !
Aug 01, 2014 06:09pm
He left his previous life behind and has moved on in the direction he believes is right for him and is inviting others around him to join him in his new found path. I know plenty of people who were extremely religious in their youth, now have become what a lot of people might consider, deviant. That's just life, people evolve in different directions along the way. I am proud of having very secularist mindset, even I cannot see the contradiction.
Aug 01, 2014 06:10pm
I don't see any confusion in JJ now, yes its right that we people face confusion and definitely frustration too in our lives. I have seen billionaires in frustration. Contentment is a wealth which spares from any sort of frustration. Its a natural process to be confused while someone is looking for spirituality. Our life style, education, culture all make us confuse. Yes we are a confuse nation, confused about life style and religious practices, confused about practicing religion, confused in maintaining a balance between religion and modern life. This confusion doesn't come in a day or two. Since our childhood to a grown up young man we are being imparted a contradiction based literature. JJ is quite clear in mind, seems contented so I feel it should be none of others business to censure others transition. In fact JJ has adopted something which many of the people do realizing the importance of spiritual life. When we say religion is someone's personal matter it shouldn't go with and for everyone.
Aug 01, 2014 06:11pm
If anyone is (even if stating as an opinion and/or fact) branding ANY form of Islam (or their own interpretation)as the correct way - it will fall under the same category as the one you are opposing or do not agree with. Anything and everything related to the 'Mullah' version as everyone likes to brand it, doesn't have to be the incorrect one. The mere fact that you think one form is correct, makes you an advocate fo another. so one is indulging in the same practise.
Aug 01, 2014 06:23pm
I remember one Junaid was saying that there was a concert at Punjab CM house, the security staff informed the CM that some SINGERS and band team is here to perform. Junaid said "these world were very harsh for me, i don't why i feel guilty of being a singer" .After transition few years back i was on the same place and in the same way the security personal informed the CM that Schoal/Aaalim naat khwa Junaid is at the gate. These words were very very respectable for me and i then thanked
Aug 01, 2014 06:26pm
It's all about being in the limelight. Since post Zia era pop musicians were losing their swagger and these mullah types were on the up. Aamir Liaqat, supposedly the biggest TV star. Where did he pop from? Here lies the difference between an artist and a star.
Aug 01, 2014 06:29pm
from JJ to TJ.
Aug 01, 2014 06:30pm
Every saint is having a history and every sinner is having a future. JJ is having all the rights to have a life the way he want to have as long he is following the law of the land.
Aug 01, 2014 06:39pm
I have no comments on the personal life of Junaid Jamshed but I hate to see his readymade outlets where the trial rooms run the religious songs! ( I even don't like to name the songs)
Aug 01, 2014 06:40pm
JJ is such a sad case. Pakistan would prosper and be so much better off without this whole religion nonsense.
Aug 01, 2014 06:49pm
Last thing we want is more mullahs.
Aug 01, 2014 06:58pm
@Shaz..It would be full of under achievers and docile people....
Aug 01, 2014 07:07pm
@TKhan There is no concept of born again in this life. We will all born again in the life here after.
Aug 01, 2014 07:25pm
This is the height of Hypocrisy. If he found the right path, you should have kept it between him and god. Why does he have to market his piousness by disguising with beard and mess up so many young minds. The true righteous is humble and one that doesn't preach!
Aug 01, 2014 07:45pm
we are no one to judge people on the basis of their intentions. Please leave this job for Allah .
Aug 01, 2014 07:49pm
Junaid Jamshed's repentance from the old ways and his understanding and acceptance of Islam is clearly from the heart. A true role model for not only the young but also the old.
Aug 01, 2014 07:58pm
History says it all. He di maximum in his early life and now he is trying to be a saint and role model for new generation. Double faces man. May allah bless all of us. Ameen
Aug 01, 2014 08:03pm
@Shaz you said "If our young generation follow Junaid (or atleast his manners, attitude and behaviour style), what a country we will become." I think our older and mature generation, including the hard-line mullahs who fail to see vices in Pakistan beyond those that afflict the English-Medium class, are more in need to follow Junaid, than our young generation.
Aug 01, 2014 08:21pm
What is it he Preaching? launch your products on the channels on which you are about to give religious sermons? another odd thing I noticed, Is that you dont see any face of any model in his product ads and on his websites, even the mannequins are shot below the head level but there are portraits and videos of Junaid Jamshed every where! It seems like hypocrisy and narcissism. It's typical radical retirement syndrome, you had your fun made money now start preaching because guilt is always there.
Aug 01, 2014 08:30pm
Vital Signs, the best South Asian band ever. I remember attending his sold out concerts in California back in the days. He is famous because of success of Vitals Sings. If he wasn't the talented lead singer and the darling, I don't think anybody would be listening to him right now because there are way more talented Naat reciters in Pakistan.
Aug 01, 2014 08:30pm
When his showbiz career floundered he began an Islamic business. He is one heck of a businessman.
Aug 01, 2014 08:44pm
So what are the views of JJ on the killings of the innocent Ahmadis in Pakistan. ever heard any comments by him?
Aug 01, 2014 09:04pm
No doubt its Allah who changes hearts
Aug 01, 2014 09:19pm
He is a perfect example for us. We are no one to make judgements. Its his life and he did what he felt like. Giving names like 'burger maulvi' or criticizing him for no good is quite unjustifiable.
Aug 01, 2014 09:23pm
What a great transition...real example for Pakistan to follow. Congratulations !!!
Aug 01, 2014 09:28pm
May be he thought he needed a different act to stay relevant.
Aug 01, 2014 10:03pm
He is a great example for us all to follow.
Aug 01, 2014 10:06pm
Look at the shinning in the last Picture.
Aug 01, 2014 10:27pm
Leaving showbiz at a time when you are at all time high is not easy ( he left music after the release of his best album 'us rah par'). We are not the people to judge anybody. It is a matter between him and the creator
Aug 01, 2014 10:48pm
People who are saying jj is now on rite path are actually implying its wrong and sinful to be a musician. Iam sorry but this is clearly a case of hypocrisy prevalent in our society
Aug 01, 2014 11:10pm
@Umair there is hypocrisy when Islam encourages simplicity and humbleness, he's on tv promoting his over expensive designer brand. Not only is he exploiting people but also giving birth to greed
Aug 01, 2014 11:31pm
Religious movements are originated in poor and illiterate societies. If scientists, professors, intellectuals and philosophers are ignored and such people like Tariq Jameel, Junaid Jamshed, Zakir Naik etc are glorified then our miseries will multiply day by day.
Aug 01, 2014 11:35pm
@Abbas Majority will agree that you live in an unrealistic world. Please open your eyes and look at JJ achievements.
Aug 01, 2014 11:45pm
What is his qualification to be called a Mulla or an islamic scholar or to lead a tableeghi gamaat (How many non muslims has he converted so far) etc, people are following him for his sermons,he is taking people for Hajj (at a very high rate) etc. - just because that he gave up singing, grew a beard, pulled the shilwar up, read some islamic books, and prays 5 times a day - these are things that a good muslim should do anyways. This is the issue we have no criteria of quality for any thing in Pak in any field
Aug 01, 2014 11:52pm
NFP is habitual of highlighting controversial issues and this time his target is JJ who is living his peaceful spiritual life and has nothing to do with his Past as well as the so called cultural critics like NFP... Such articles can not affect the goodwill and respect of JJ who preferred the Hereafter over Here! Infact the People like NFP feel much pain when they see the Number of Cultural and Musical Concerts are less than that of Religious and Spiritual Congregations and they will never realize whether the peace of mind is disguised in Music or in Religion! Allah Bless All of Us! Aameen!
Aug 01, 2014 11:55pm
An icon to be followed
Aug 02, 2014 12:07am
@Umair . It is a halal photoshoot as compared to the previous ones which were not. Remember halal and hatam is often a matter of intentions and definitions.
Aug 02, 2014 12:10am
Mullahs,Muftis and Actors/Singers ( becoming religious scholars ) through their Fatwas and interpretations are causing havoc to Islam.
Aug 02, 2014 12:10am
@Shaz generation of intolerant and impulsive bunch,
Aug 02, 2014 12:10am
From show business to show off business.
Aug 02, 2014 12:37am
He is still a performer though, a religious performer and a brand name for the well endowed.
Aug 02, 2014 12:51am
A bad choice!
Aug 02, 2014 12:56am

comments here does not reflect true religious face of Pakistan or is that Pakistani ideology changed to secular, where religion even does not get any space in personal lives...
Fatima Kishwar Abid
Aug 02, 2014 01:58am
Amazing how anybody calling someone tableeghi just because he or she doesnt agree with his views is language and calling some is full of himself is not
Aug 02, 2014 02:00am
@samina sorry for saying this but what if i say that models are showing there brand of islam they should also keep it to themselves stop behaving like a child without toy....and i dont think you believe in prophet Allah ordered the messenger to spread Islam...if keeping it to himself was correct than he would have never come out for Islam although he knew he had to face hardships.. iam not a molvi but a muslim who doesnot even say prayers five times but i know this atleast
Aug 02, 2014 02:00am
If all of the commentators below, including the self-righteous Shaz, cared, or even noticed, that the woman in the fifth picture down between Maqsood and Junaid was not even ID'd ( as all the men were) according to the most basic rules of journalism, not to mention common courtesy, what a great country you would be. And if you maulvi-types hate America so much, quit eating our potato chips.
Aug 02, 2014 02:15am
apparently, he has no issues charging exorbitant prices for his clothing line.... when Islam says one hand doesn't need to know what the other is doing, I though it meant charity, not preaching one thing and acting contradictory to your teachings!!! Also, does anybody know what he did to the profits that he received from his songs (went towards his business or went to charity), or the royalties that he may still be receiving?
Aug 02, 2014 02:23am
@samina ...Wow ...Well Said!!!
Aug 02, 2014 02:26am
25 Lakh Wedding Dress... Fashion Shows in Dubai...Wow what a humble living!!!
Aug 02, 2014 02:34am
JJ has become a marketeer! He needs to slow down and find time off from his marketing ventures!
Aug 02, 2014 02:35am
@tanzeel ... Be A Better Person...Spread Love Not Hatred!!!
Aug 02, 2014 02:58am
@Shaz what is so great about what he is doing? Has anyone asked him how much tax does he pay on his business and other activities does he makes sure everyone in his area has a full filling meal when they go to sleep. Does his treat his workers with respect. Being a good Muslim doesn't imply growing a beard and wearing short shalwar. All these are supposed to come after u fulfill your obligations to humanity. Allah only requires one to follow the five pillars, fulfill obligation to humanity and then take the step of showing off ones pious looks.
Aug 02, 2014 03:32am
Aug 02, 2014 03:48am
Did he donate all the dirty money earned through singing? If yes. Then who financed his enormous 63 outlets! 57 across Pakistan, 3 in UAE, 1 in Doha Qatar and 1 in UK and 1 in USA? I am living in Dubai at Meena Bazar (Bur Dubai) his sponsor/partner is from India. I do hope must be from Deoband India.
Aug 02, 2014 04:43am
@Danish ...Hain? Man of God?
Aug 02, 2014 05:01am
WOW! So many negative comments one way or the other which only shows how truly open-minded our readers are :-O Please guys, LIVE and LET LIVE!! And leave JJ alone (or anyone else for that matter)- if he says he is happier and more contented, then be it. Apna apna rasta napo aur khush raho:)
Aug 02, 2014 07:08am
@samina Even you are preaching here by telling us who is righteous and who isn't..
Aug 02, 2014 07:33am
JJ has wisely chosen a great "The End" of his showbiz life. So far as religious tendency is concerned, I think almost all of us have inclination towards religion, but we go on taking time to bow before almighty. Some times hypocrisy of our religious egg-heads causes the distance between religion and its common (sinful) followers. Moreover, Junaid Jamshed is not a singer any more as he has given up singing. Therefore, his old pictures with poses may hurt him.
Aug 02, 2014 08:42am
@tariq and how exactly are u to judge who's the victim? Or to judge who's confused? With due respect, please keep ur judgements to urself!
Aug 02, 2014 08:54am
@Hussain and just because u may not agree with some of his opinions, that gives u no right to judge him! Ur not different from what ur accusing him of, just on the opposite side of the spectrum!
Aug 02, 2014 09:02am
@Genius actually the last thing we want are self proclaimed 'geniuses' .. Haha .. I mean seriously? Could u come up with nothing better? Some genius! Huh!
Aug 02, 2014 09:08am
@Awais haider and who exactly r u to judge? R u God? Coz only God can know what's inside the heart of a person.. And with this ridiculous logic of urs, non Muslims shudnt convert? And if a muslim has spent most his life doing something wrong, they should still keep doing it even after they realise they were on the wrong path? Only a very stupid, or a very stubborn person would do that!
Aug 02, 2014 09:27am
@Zeeshan what? U don't even make sense mate! There have been some ridiculous comments here, but urs is just on a totally new level! First of all, scientists, have nothing to do with theology, or spirituality at a teaching level! Just like a scientist has to be a specialist in his field, a religious scholar needs to become a specialist in religion by study over decades.. Dr zakir naik, btw, is a qualified doctor.. Tariq jameel has spent decades studying Islam.. And one of the greatest intellectual and philosopher of all time, Allama Iqbal, was a pioneer in understanding Islam in the modern light.. He was a great theologian and his poetry was inspired by quranic verses and he preached Islam through his poetry.. Btw, Tariq jameel refers to his poetry very often and considers himself a student of Iqbal and Iqbal the greatest poet of all time.. Know about the people u so casually want to judge and comment upon.. Otherwise u just make urself look not-so-smart! Pseudo-intellectual!
Aug 02, 2014 09:35am
@AL Islam does not stop u from doing business and does not put a limit on the profits u make.. Business is business and charity is charity.. Business cannot be charity.. Basic common sense.. Clearly, not so common for some ppl!?
Aug 02, 2014 09:40am
@Danish the majority owner of Junaid jamshed is not Junaid himself.. His business was started by a businessman in Karachi who gave royalty to JJ for using his name.. Most of his outlets are franchises.. A number of them owned by ex cricketers such as Amir sohail, saeed anwar, inzimam and Muhammad yousaf etc..
Aug 02, 2014 10:05am
Junaid Bhai you have chosen a right path. May ALLAH bless you, give u health, prosperity , consistency and make u source for others to be good and pious.
Aug 02, 2014 10:49am
That was a good one. You should educate people with this theology.Good analysis.
Aug 02, 2014 11:18am
professor zakir you are correct my brother
Shafique Rahib Khan
Aug 02, 2014 12:18pm
I just went through the headline and came here to comment. How come you say "pop pioneer" JJ had nothing but a "chocolaty face". Why do you forget two predecessors as well as the most deserving singers Alamgir and Shahki.
Aug 02, 2014 12:27pm
Where is he from , the good JJ. I heard his eloquence in pushto, any clues,,,??
Aug 02, 2014 12:35pm
Shafique Rahib Khan
Aug 02, 2014 01:02pm
@Agon ; You are absolutely right. Any one who claims being religious; should work for humanity, like Mother Terresa.
Aug 02, 2014 01:12pm
Subhan Allah, Allah jisy chahy hedyat dy. Junaid Bahi Allah ap ko Istakamat dy or hum sb muslims ko hedyat sy nawazy. Ameen
Aug 02, 2014 01:31pm
What a waste of talents
Aug 02, 2014 01:46pm
I guess his 900 were done so he was like, lets go for Hajj !!! btw, with stuff from pepsi and songs fading, he found the next best biz in Pakistan, have a beard, say Prophet's PBUH name like you are the last person on earth to love him, THAN start a business that rips everyone off big time, I mean forget about margin or profits on goods, why? cause its JJ !!! I am being sarcastic and you would be right. congrats.
Aug 02, 2014 02:29pm
Yes i agree with the comment below. It seems that Junaid Jamshed is a Narcissist personality. I know other tabhlighis too who are Narcissists.
Aug 02, 2014 02:35pm
May Allah Guide every one to become good Muslims Ameen
A. Salam Memom
Aug 02, 2014 02:53pm
This is my understanding and this is based on limited insight in his life, and this may be taken as a mere opinion not the final verdict about his life. Before so called transformation he was pleasing the crowds through his music not himself, for there is nothing wrong with music, if any evidence in this respect is required kindly watch movie " Khuda Ke Liye", and now he is trying to please almighty Allah through his religious singing, but the most important thing for me is that so far he has ignored to please his being, and thereby he is still empty from inside, which he is trying to fill. If still he is trying to find the truth through his existence then it is perfectly ok and if he is feeling that he is trying to please Almighty for his past wrong doings then naturally he is still in big trouble, therefore working for peace day in and day out, and peace is only required when there is turmoil inside. Now it is for him to judge that where he is or what he is up to, we must stop our nonsense about the esoterics, which we do not know, we must work for our peace with ways which suit us, without becoming carbon copies. Let us strive to be original no matter what it costs, it will be worth dying for. Tail piece; let jj be jj and you become yourself, start smilling for youself for what you are and stop cursing yourself. I personally feel pity for him for his ambitiousness for remaing on top, no matter which side he is on.
Aug 02, 2014 03:22pm
@Raaz I agree with most of your points but the sacrifices he gave in terms of he left those things which are enviable to many, I think it should be greatly appreciated.
Aug 02, 2014 03:52pm
Life has its phases and human beings are infallible and we all realise this at some stage. If some does not impose their beliefs on you then you should not fear them and if you fear the truth then you will be fearful of everyone. Repentance and reflection is a great gift to have so please do not judge others. JJ is just another human being who is trying to mend his ways and should applauded.
Aug 02, 2014 04:09pm
its JJ's personal choice but I see him as a good marketer and know where the chips fall
Syed Raza Abbas Shah
Aug 02, 2014 04:30pm
hypocrite of the top level .
Aug 02, 2014 04:34pm
@Shaz That is wat Pakistan has already become, following the footprints of JJ n many others toward "HOORS IN WAITING" of jaanat.
Aug 02, 2014 04:41pm
I travelled on the same plane as JJ and his two colleagues. During a stopover they ignored the rest of passengers. At Lahore Jj had the cheek to skip the line and pushed ahead of me with no courtesy. I guess he still thinks I'm a star and people should fall over me. Hypocrisy no knows no boundaries. Growing lengthy beards and wearing different dress codes does not make anyone holy.
Aug 02, 2014 04:52pm
Thanks for all the recommendations. Majority's opinion is always right. All fake and repeatedly justified STORES come to their real face at some point of time. May Allah help us to take the path of truth. Ameen. A moderate Pakistani.

If a man bows his head in compliance to this knowledge; when he gives up obstinacy and conceit and acts according to this knowledge and if he limits his actions within the bounds fixed by this knowledge, it is this method which is termed as 'Islamic Method'.
Aug 02, 2014 05:44pm
Honestly I take it as a personal loss to indulge in happiness. I always thought VS was the the lone band which combined music, words and rythem and was a fore bearer of a soft revolution not in the country but in the region.
Aug 02, 2014 06:15pm

@Ali and what makes u think he does not fullfil his responsibilities u mentioned? and who gives u the right to question his religion?
Aug 02, 2014 07:03pm
May Allah give him strength to follow Islam in true sprit.
Aug 02, 2014 07:07pm
Allah bestows upon human being His blessings. The best amongst them is to give human beings the understanding of Islam and the true path.
Aug 02, 2014 07:07pm
Junaid Jamshed is an example for us that It is Allah who can change our life, may Allah give all us strength to follow Islam in true sprit.
Aug 02, 2014 08:28pm
What a self-inflicted downfall! Sign of mental illness -- including profound depression.
Aug 02, 2014 09:38pm
A great ambassador for islam and pleasure to see you on t.v.
Aug 02, 2014 11:19pm
@Pakistanii . You can take the camel out the desert, but can not take the desert out of a camel. Music is in the soul I am sure he still sings his old songs in private. And that's ok. Also he made a right business decision based on country's trend. Plus, life in showbiz is not for ever, but being a molvie is long lasting & more prosperous.
Aug 02, 2014 11:33pm
I seems he did a good thing to leave the music but some time i feel he talked alot with Waseem Badmi who is new in the subject and they have to thing alot before quoting hadeez.
Aug 03, 2014 12:17am
These people cannot sustain pressure and are ejected out. Then they look for shortcuts and simple solutions. Deep in their thoughts is the intention to be respected. Thanks to our ignorant society that such people are appreciated and glorified.
Aug 03, 2014 01:14am
Life is multidimensional. Such a life is incomplete and fake. One should not consider himself different from the rest of the people.
Aug 03, 2014 03:12am
Which JJ brought more smiles to the people of Pakistan? New or old?
Aug 03, 2014 03:31am
Faith is something very personal. It shouldn't be our concern. Besides, we should keep in mind that no one is perfect. We should always strive to mend our own lives rather than searching for the imperfections in other's lives and criticising them. It is clearly mentioned in the holy Quran that "vie with one another in good deeds". So kindly strive to outsmart each other in good deeds and continue your journey of life with peace and tranquility. Stay blessed
Aug 03, 2014 03:58am
@Shaz There is nothing wrong with some of us following JJ but please do not hope for the whole younger generation to follow him. We would like them to become scientists, engineers, medical professionals. We have enough Mullahs in the country. What we need to progress are the experts in sciences.
Aug 03, 2014 04:01am
@Yawar How can you say that it was from his heart?. You can only say that about yourself and no one else.
Aug 03, 2014 05:44am
It is not just JJ, it is the whole of Pakistan - which has turn piety into a show, piety into a armband. wearing religion on ones sleeve get boring and tiring after a while to others who have to suffer the insult and stupidity.
Aug 03, 2014 06:53am
Ye Sub ALLAH ki Mehrobaani Hey, Dunya Qismat sy Milthi hey aur Aakhirat Mehnat ney. Junaaid neyik Qadam Barraaya, Allah ney Das, Junaid ko TV par Khawateen ki Shows mey Shirkat Nahi Karney Chaaheye. Beyraah honey Dair Nahi Lagthi
Aug 03, 2014 07:28am
I have listened to his interviews. I do not really think that he has a good understanding of Islam. I think he is rather confused.
Aug 03, 2014 08:14am
He never spoke against america. He says we ourselves are responsible for all our sufferings and none else.
Aug 03, 2014 08:35am
Perhaps he has found more money in this business then the one he was doing before.
Aug 03, 2014 08:52am
Why this jadeed Mullah is given so much coverage in the ARY TV shows. is it because he was a pop singer or he excels all others ulema knoweldge who spent all their life in studying Quran and Sunnah.
Aug 03, 2014 09:54am
And why are we so obsessed with JJ life's? Its been years and pakistanis are still unable to get over the fact that JJ has chosen a new lifestyle. Evolution and reform is perfectly normal, especially in times as turbulent as the ones in which we are living.
Aug 03, 2014 10:14am
@tariq tableeghi jumat never forced him to change his appearance or his way of life. He has said it himself in many interviews that it was after quite a few years that he started to think about real change. "Moral Police" only cleared the difference between the right and not so right things for him and left him on his own to decide.
Aug 03, 2014 11:38am
.....from Tableeghai Jamaat to a highly commercialized molvi. He has not lost anything from this transition. Rather he has gained a lot...a lot of money, audience, advertisements, social approval (from confused majority) etc. In fact, he has become epic representation of religious confusion in the country, implanted by elder mullahs. Such a situation suits a lot of people. While they indulge in greed, extravagance, vanity, jealousy and popularity races they cover all this through big beards, artificial styles of speaking and religious discourse.
Aug 03, 2014 11:41am
@Umair Certainly there is hypocrisy in denouncing showbiz and benefiting from it at the same time.
Aug 03, 2014 11:43am
at Last we came to know that its was a lays advertisement
Aug 03, 2014 11:48am
JJ is on TV all the time promoting himself a pious muslim. To promote his business, he is seen giving gifts to old and young women. On the other hand, in of his interviews I watched on TV, he said he did not let his wife to learn driving, because he did not want to give her freedom to move around.

Aug 03, 2014 01:25pm
I believe JJ should not be using is "Name" as brand for his clothing business and denounce show business income from brand endorsements. His fame and celebrity status is derived from the very source he apparently regrets ( Showbiz and Entertainment). Source of income remains same style and audience has changed.
Aug 03, 2014 01:48pm
salman you have just spoken your dirty mind, otherwise nothing is beautiful than religion
Aug 03, 2014 02:04pm
Once a commercial product, still a commercial product.
Aug 03, 2014 02:12pm
@Syed (Australia) May be its because scholars grounded in knowledge don't like to come on TV everyday at a certain time, as they have more pressing matters to attend to.
Aug 03, 2014 02:13pm
@Syed Raza Abbas Shah Is it because he's not from your little "religious circle"?
Aug 03, 2014 03:34pm
If someone has chosen to be close to GOD, then we should not point fingers at him. He is a free man and GOD has chosen him to be close to Him. May ALLAH guide us all.

JJ - His life - His choices. enough said.

Aug 03, 2014 04:41pm
@ Usman Ahmed. I can only pity you on your lame thinking .
Aug 03, 2014 09:21pm
To those who are saying that we shouldnt publish his old pictures should understand that he is still a public figure he just dont want to go away? Why doesnt he just say goodbye to lime light and stop posing in front of camera? he doesnt allow modelling for his products? Ironic I see him on TV more than pop stars, it's been ages since I saw Rohail Hayat or other guys but Junaid Jamshed is always in front of camera! as I said it reeks of narcissism and capitalization, Here's my product and listen to my sermon.

What a great change and what a wonderful transition of JJ? However, I fondly and vividly remember the days when he used to be our contemporary at the famous and historic West Pakistan University of Engineering and Technolgoy, Grand Trunk Road, Lahore - Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

MUSIC is the OLIVE BRANCE that takes one to higher level from music for pleasure to music for religion --- the tunes are their for all types of singing -- plus the J. makes a debut --- in URDU saying ek pun do kaaj -- here in JJ case ONE MUSIC and TEEN KAAAJ----- music, tabligh and tijaraat -- unique combination.
Aug 04, 2014 01:04am
@Yousuf ----- here he is classical singer --- with religious NOTES.
Aug 04, 2014 01:21am
why can't we learn to respect other people's lifestyle and choices that they make/have made. Whether a person is doing the right thing or not is not anyone else's business. If they are content with what they are doing and their actions are not harmful to humanity than they must be respected regardless of their religious or national views. I find it irritating when people mock JJ for quitting music and opted to choose religious teachings instead. if you don't like his views then don't listen to him. Its easier to switch off to another channel. Or then at least have some credible debate rather than spitting hate through columns and blogs. I may not agree with most of the things he says now, but that doesn't mean that he should be ridiculed at every platform.
Aug 04, 2014 05:37am
everyone come back to his roots. this is the happy ending of the story.
Aug 04, 2014 08:18am
JJ looking good after transition period. May Allah give him more what they deserve in this life after that akrat JANNAT. It's real time and permanent success.
Aug 04, 2014 10:41am

@Yousuf He best at none. A mullah can never be a good husband and a closed minded Tablegeeh can never be a philosopher.
Aug 04, 2014 12:44pm
A man to be followed for his ideals ------- cause properity of humanity. Keep it up JJ.......Bravado.
Aug 04, 2014 02:41pm
@Shahid - good to know your are Rumi reader! by dear have you ever the read the Quran, the book of Allah SWT, with translation to understand what is mentioned about music? or ever you ever read the authentic books of Hadith, giving a practical example of how the Quran is practiced' & how the prophet SAW enjoyed music? pls do so...
Aug 04, 2014 03:52pm
@Pakistanii one could deviate from right path, we have many such deviations in different matters of life where we pledge not to do it but we do it and then again commit after seeking forgiveness, for this we are not granted any permission from any body. be careful with ur words, that one can get special permission for committing something wrong.
Aug 05, 2014 10:08am
Nfp u always manage to continue to disgust me with ure insidious articles twisting religious beliefs and ure unnerving need to tell the world how anyone who cares abt their religion is doomed or pathetic. Really hope that some day I'll be able to read an article in which u begin to accept that spirituality is the means to success at every level...this has even been proven and documented in journals all around the world... Ps : get ure facts straight...Junaid jamshed is not an "expensive clothes designer" his name has only been used for which he gets royalty..
Aug 06, 2014 03:53pm
JJ was a great performer, loved his singing and style. that was an era for him that is over, but for us, we can relive it through his videos and songs. Now that he is a reformed man, religious in his ways, but it doesn't mean he is to be in a shell and redrawn from public life. Yes he is now in a business, successful like none of his contemporaries. He can continue to influence the youth. BUT he must not be carried away in his views of how women should be in public life, that's for his own family he can influence. A recent comment of his that 'do not allow women to drive', is out of place in these times.Driving for women becomes a necessity at times. It does not mean that they will be 'AZAAD'. it depends on the upbringing of the individual.
