Ask two companies what a “Manager – Finance” does and you may get two very different answers. That gap has long been one of the quiet weaknesses of salary benchmarking in Pakistan: compare titles instead of roles, and the numbers mislead.

Trew Insights, launched in Karachi on October 26 by HRSG Consulting, tackles the problem with technology. At its core is a library of more than 3,500 benchmark jobs, each with a full job description. When an organisation maps its roles, the platform’s AI-assisted matching suggests the closest benchmark job based on what the role involves, not what it is called. HRSG’s consultants then review the matches with the client before any comparison is made.

“Technology does the heavy lifting, but people still make the call,” said Saman Effendi, founder of Trew Insights and managing director of HRSG Consulting. “A good match is the difference between a fair pay decision and an expensive mistake. We use AI to get there faster, and our consultants to make sure it’s right.”

The result is speed without shortcuts. Instead of commissioning a survey and waiting 10 to 12 weeks for a report, HR and rewards heads sign in with secure credentials and see where their pay stands against the market. All data is end-to-end encrypted, and no figure appears unless at least eight organisations stand behind it.

The platform reflects a wider shift in Pakistan’s HR function, from spreadsheets and emailed reports toward secure, purpose-built tools. “HR teams here are as capable as anywhere in the world,” Effendi said. “They deserve tools that respect their time and their data. We’re glad to play a small part in that.”

Trew Insights was launched in collaboration with The Talent Accelerator. Sessions follow in Lahore on November 3 and Islamabad on November 5.
