Haris returns to the attack, can he redeem himself after his previous over?
Coach Hesson has instructed the express pacer to keep it outside the off-stump, but he’s taken it a bit too literally — bowling a huge wide!
Just when Pakistan needed Haris to keep his head, he loses it and perhaps the match is also done. Haris had given seven runs off the first five deliveries but then gave a freebie to Dube with a low full toss that was dispatched for six. India need 17 off the last two overs.
He’s kept it tight so far, but Abrar’s misfield allows Indian batters to take a double.
Salman turns to his pace spearhead Shaheen for a much-needed breakthrough. The left-armer keeps things tight — no boundaries coming in the over — but his quota of four is up for the night. Pakistan need to find inspiration from elsewhere. India need 30 off the last three.
15.1: Varma launches Abrar for six over mid-wicket!
15.2: Varma is very lucky as he top-edges one, but it lands safely.
Another good over for India as Dube rides on India’s rising momentum to smash Abrar for six on the first ball and the spinner follows it up with a wide. India get 11 off it and Varma completes his half century. It’s slipping away from Pakistan.
Haris Rauf returns to the attack as India look to accelerate.
Haris returns to the attack and is welcomed by Dube with a crashing four through the offside before Varma punched one past the pacer for another boundary two balls later. Varma then swats him for six off the last ball. Big over for India, 17 runs coming from it. Pakistan have let the momentum slip away.
Samson gone as Abrar strikes and celebrates in his signature fashion!
It’s spinning prodigiously while Sanjay Manjerekar on comms thought dew would be a factor..
The wicket Pakistan had been searching for so long finally arrives thanks to Abrar. Samson chased at a ball turning away from him and got a leading edge that was snapped up by Sahibzada at backward point. Just two runs come off the over.

Varma hits Abrar for six after pressure builds up.
Varma has been solid since he arrived at the crease with India wobbling. His six off Abrar between long-on and midwicket shows he holds the key to India’s chase. Pakistan need a wicket, soon.
Hussain Talat has dropped a regulation catch at deep square-leg to give Samson a life.
How costly would that drop prove? Hussain spills a straightforward chance off Samson. Spinner Abrar could’ve made an instant impact with the wicket, and who knows what would’ve come next. India go past 50; Samson and Varma’s stand now up to 34.

India have hit their first six of the innings of a hit-me delivery by Faheem.
First big over for India so far as Tilak Varma gets a four and six off Faheem. They get 11 off it to raise their run rate to six and over.
The powerplay, though, has belonged to Pakistan.

3.6: He strikes again to get rid of Gill as Haris takes an absolute blinder at mid-on!
Shubman Gill got the second boundary of the Indian innings, but the pressure Pakistan had built up got to him, and he found a leaping Haris at mid-on. Pakistan have turned it on.
2.3: Shaheen strikes to remove the Indian skipper! Salman takes a diving catch at mid-off, but Surkyakumar is unmoved.
He has to go after the replays show that the Pakistani skipper had taken that one cleanly!
The tournament ends for Surkyakumar in the disappointing manner it started — both on and off the field.
Shubman Gill is complaining about the spider-cam and we have a stoppage in play.
Gill nearly run out on the last ball of the over — pressure on the Indian batters.
Shaheen, after bowling a superb opening over, is rewarded in his second, sending back India skipper Suryakumar Yadav — an uppish drive landing in Salman’s safe hands at mid-off. If they weren’t already after Sharma’s wicket, Pakistan are right back into this contest and India are looking nervous.
The Indian opener falls to the tamest of dismissals as he is caught by Haris inside the circle.
The Indian skipper is the new man in — he’s struggled for runs in this tournament.
Faheem Ashraf gets the prized wicket of the dangerous Abhishek Sharma and there is life after all for Pakistan in this game. It is the start Pakistan would’ve wanted and now they’ve got it.

Pakistan have shot themselves in the foot. They were off to a sensational start thanks to Sahibzada Farhan, with a huge total in sight.
But the middle and lower order collapsed spectacularly and with it, India’s constriction kept getting tighter until they squeezed the life out of Salman Ali Agha’s men.
The Men in Green lost their last nine wickets for 33 runs — a momentous collapse with few parallels.
There was also a poor show of sportsman’s spirit by the Indian captain Surkyakumar during the Pakistan batting innings when he appealed for an obstruction to the field by Pakistan skipper.
The replays showed clearly that there was no such intent by Salman.
Pakistan have to play out of their skins if they are to win this one.

Haris Rauf’s four off the first ball he faced ignited some faint hopes that Pakistan would be able to get a total of about 160 but Bumrah sent his off-stump flying three balls later. The Indian pacer mimics Haris’ gestures from the last game in giving him a send-off. Pakistan’s hopes now rest on Nawaz’s shoulders.

After surviving an lbw shot earlier, Shaheen is dismissed by Kuldeep.
India have well and truly tightened the noose and Pakistan are falling apart. Skipper Salman tried a big heave but only succeeded in getting a top edge that once again found Samson’s gloves.
The incoming Shaheen Shah Afridi too tried to go after ball one but didn’t last long, falling lbw on a review by India before Faheem Ashraf holed out to Varma. Top over by Kuldeep, who seemed out of sorts after his first couple of overs, but finishes with 4-30
