Holding striking similarities with Spanish crime drama television series La Casa De Papel, popularly known as Money Heist, the first teaser for 50 Crore began trending in Pakistan for all the wrong reasons.

With a star studded cast, the ad film's cast includes popular names such as Faisal Qureshi, Ijaz Aslam, Saboor Aly, Zhalay Sarhadi, Faryal Mahmood, Asad Siddiqui, Naveed Raza, Mehmood Aslam, Noman Habib, Anoushey Abbasi and Umer Shehzad in leading roles.

However, where audiences are grateful for a representation away from suppressed housewives and troubled family dynamics, the lack of original content remains alarming in a country otherwise brimming with talent.

Some think it's a no-no

While others have their own casting suggestions

Some have logistical concerns

While others are just grateful for different content

The plagiarism brigade is upset

Bella Ciao or Bhangra Paao?

While initially audiences thought it was a film, however, it appears to be a PR stunt. Nevertheless, people are talking.

There was a time when Pakistani producers would search for Ambitab's lookalike. They badly copied Indian movies. Ultimately Pakistani cinema was left to the likes of Shaan and Babar Ali. Pakistani nation wants short-cuts and are generally very poor in generating original ideas. Even the color of the jump suits is copied . Look at the hair cuts of female actors. What a flop.

Faysal n Ajaz are quite aged to do these young roles. Should reconsider.

We need young people on screen. Bored of seeing those that claim to be 40 years but have been on screen for more than 49 years
