LAHORE, April 20: The communications and works department has sought the assistance of the Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency of the Lahore Development Authority for finalizing a change in alignment of the Lahore Ring Road.
The C&W Private Investment director has asked TEPA to depute a senior official conversant with the alignment for a field visit for the proposed change in the alignment. TEPA assistance has been sought for a change in ring road alignment because it has planned the ring road project which has been transferred to the C&W department for execution.
A decision to change the ring road alignment and shift it inwards between Motorway Bypass and Bedian Road for meeting the immediate traffic needs of the provincial metropolis was taken during a site visit by the Planning and Development chairman, Finance secretary, the Lahore Development Authority director-general, the chief engineer, the Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency director, the communication and works department recently.
The communication and works department is considering a number of alignments keeping in view the costs and benefits in consultation with the investors interested in the projects.
