What price education?

RAJANPUR, April 20: Studying under the blazing sun, students at a school in chak Gabol have to pay a heavy price of rift among the government functionaries.

Information gleaned by Dawn revealed that the students had been attending their classes at the shelterless building for the last five years. About 15 months ago, the relevant authorities started construction of the school’s building, but it could not be completed because of the district Nazim’s interference.

The students requested Sardar Nasrullah Dareshak during his election campaign to provide them basic amenities at the school. The provincial assembly candidate, who enjoyed support from the Nazim at that time, promised the pupils that he would get the school’s building constructed without delay. However, he has yet to fulfil his words.

Recently, the Nazim had ordered bulldozing of the school’s half-built structure.
