Dacoits, thieves strike 10 times

LAHORE, Oct 10: Robbers and thieves took away cash, gold ornaments, valuables, cars and motorcycles in 10 strikes in the city on Wednesday.

Three gunmen stormed into the house of Khalid Usmani, a PIA employee, at Super Town in Defence. They held hostage his six-year-old son Saleem at knife point, collected cash, gold ornament and valuables, worth Rs500,000, and escaped.

Another gang of three masked men barged into the house of Muhammad Saleem at Ali Town in Sattukatla and made off with cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs90,000.

Saleem told police that he had identified two of the gangsters as Mushtaq and Shafiq. He said that the two accused had been residing in his neighbourhood. A case was registered against them with no arrest.

Driver Zabihullah was parking a car (LXX-840) outside a house in Block D of Defence when two gunmen held up him and drove away with it.

Another car (LXN-8370) owned by Masood was taken away by three armed men from Block D of Model Town. Three gunmen drove away with a motorcycle (LXY-2891) from Garhi Shahu and another two-wheeler (LOF-7880) was stolen from Ichhra.

Two wagons (LHF-3620 and LHP-3268) were stolen from Nawankot and Liaqatabad.
