ISLAMABAD, March 27: The Iraqi embassy in the capital has appreciated the feelings expressed by the people of Pakistan for Iraqi people, and for condemnation of the US-led war.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, the embassy lauded Pakistani people for expressing solidarity with the Iraqi people and for showing their willingness to donate money and provide medical assistance. However, the embassy said: “Iraq, at this time, doesn’t need any financial donation, and has not authorized any group or individual to do so.” It further said Iraq needed praying to protect its people and leader, President Saddam Hussain, with a view to achieving victory against its enemies.—Our Reporter
