KARACHI, March 27: A young man committed suicide in Clifton on Thursday.

The police said that Maqsood Ahmed, aged 23, took poison in his house in Neelum Colony. He was rushed to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Maqsood got married a year ago. His wife was living in Azad Kashmir from where he hailed. Here he lived with his brother and father.

Quoting the dead man’s father and brother, the police said that Maqsood, a construction worker, did not go to work on Thursday, saying that he was not feeling well.

He consumed poison when he was alone in the house.

DIE OF BURNS: Two women who had suffered burns died at Civil Hospital on Thursday.

The police said that Fauzia, aged 25, had suffered burns in her house in Landhi on March 22. She was admitted to the burns ward of Civil Hospital where she died.

A young girl, Sana, aged 18, who had suffered burns in her house in Kalakot, also died at Civil Hospital.

ELECTROCUTED: An eight-year-old boy died of electrocution in his house in Liaquatabad on Thursday.

The police said that Mohammed Shahid was trying to get hold of a chicken when he put his hand into an electric motor and was electrocuted

in his house in Gulshan-i-Sikandar.

Mohammed Shahid was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
