KARACHI, March 26: Three ships carrying containers, DAP fertilizer and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.
Owing to steady arrivals of foreign flag vessels, the berthing activity at the wharves was maintained at a brisk pace. Seven ships, Merkur Sea, Sima Bahar, APL Portugal to unload and load containers, Love Letter to offload steel coils, Sorena, to offload crude oil, Oriental Tulip to unload molasses and Jo Rogan to load molasses were berthed.
Four ships, Tai He, Iron-D, Izumo and Makhachala departed on Wednesday, while APL Portugal, AP Pride, Astor, Bador, Sima Bahar, Hyundai Highway and Fu Yu Shan are due to sail out on Thursday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest where a total tonnage of 54,876 tons comprising 12,608 tons of export cargo and 42,268 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Asia, to load 15,500 tons of molasses, Mar Challenger, with containers and Maria-A, with DAP fertilizer.
KARACHI, March 26: Two ships carrying edible oil and chemicals were allotted berths at Multipurpose and Engro Vopak terminals during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Wednesday.
Berth occupancy remained on the higher side as six ships, City of Edinburgh, Cos Hero, Nur Yanbu, Jo Clipper, Action Express and Michele Bottiglier were busy in loading/offloading containers, general cargo, edible oil, diesel oil, chemicals and coal.
Cargo handling activity remained brisk totalling 65,482 tons comprising 57,050 tons of import cargo and 8,432 tons of export tonnage was handled.
Michele Bottiglier and Mutiara departed, while City of Edinburgh, Action Express and Jo Clipper were due to leave.
Two ships, Jordan and Sam John Light were due to take berths at QICT and IOCB.
