KARACHI, March 21: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan on Friday accepted the offer of two mills which quoted the lowest rate of Rs19,240 per ton for a quantity of 1,000 tons each.

The tender evaluation committee of TCP, comprising representative of provincial agriculture departments, ministries of finance and agriculture and TCP officers, met here at the TCP heaequarter.

Third tender for purchase of 25,000 tons sugar from mills was opened on March 19. Total 39 sugar mills — 20 from Sindh and 19 from Punjab — participated in the tender.

Two mills quoted the same price of Rs19,240 per ton, inclusive of sales tax, while 37 mills quoted the price of Rs19,250 per ton each, inclusive of sale tax.

The committee has advised the other 37 parties to match their price with the lowest price of Rs19,240 per ton by Saturday.—PPI
