SWABI, March 20: ANP leader Asfandyar Wali Khan has demanded of the government to further empower the Senate as it is vital for strengthening federation and satisfaction of small provinces.

“So far the small provinces have not been given due share in all sectors, which is essential for a strong federation,” he said while speaking at a function organized by the Pukhtun Students Federation on Wednesday.

Mr Khan said that Punjab enjoyed a dominant position in the National Assembly which created various problems for Sindh, Balochistan and NWFP. The small provinces, he said, could not get their due share from the federal government because the “big brother” wanted to dominate.

Punjab’s domination, the ANP leader said, had created a sense of deprivation among the people of small provinces and the leaders were facing problems in getting their dreams materialized.
