Paying loans through privatisation

Published September 22, 2010

I WAS reading a news report that Russia will seek to raise $50 billion from privatisations over the next five years to replenish coffers depleted by the economic crisis.

If Russia can get $10 billion dollar per year, then I think the Pakistan government must also think of these types of privatisation which can earn a lot of money and Pakistan must pay back huge amounts of loans which have come up to $55 billion.

Pakistan can lease its land on large-scale and can also privatise those institutions which have been running in huge losses for 10 to 15 years. I know that nothing will happen in Pakistan because the government is not at all serious about solving the people's problem.
