Four car thieves get 9-year RI

ISLAMABAD, March 7: Judicial Magistrate Chaudhry Mumtaz Hussain on Friday awarded a total of nine-year rigorous imprisonment to four persons in different car-theft cases.

The convicts — Mohammad Akhtar, Noor Agha, Gul Mohammad and Guncha Gul — had been booked by the Margalla police.

Mohammad Akhtar was awarded six-year imprisonment. He was also fined Rs1,200, and, in case of non-payment, would have to undergo another one-month of jail term.

The other three convicts were awarded one-year rigorous imprisonment each.

In another case, the judge sent an accused, involved in a murder case, to Adiala Jail.

The accused, Farrukh Iqbal, had been arrested by Golra police from G-10 Markaz.

Meanwhile, Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Mohammad Yunas awarded one-year rigorous imprisonment to a man in a drug-smuggling case on Friday.
