ISLAMABAD, March 7: The government has allocated Rs2.7 billion to help undertake relief programme for meeting drought conditions in Balochistan.

Prime Minister’s Advisor on Finance Shaukat Aziz told Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousaf during a meeting here on Friday that the amount had been released for meeting needs of the provincial government for accelerating the implementation of the drought relief programme.

He said the government had previously released Rs145 million and would release another Rs75 million for development projects in the province under Khushal Pakistan Programme.

The chief minister explained development priorities of Balochistan and discussed financial position of his province with the advisor.

They also discussed the development of Gwadar port.
