KARACHI, Nov 28: The Education Department on Wednesday announced the results of aptitude/qualifying test held on Nov 25 for schoolteachers, seeking additional salary increments on the basis of BED for MED degrees.

An official of the department said that 219 candidates had appeared in the test for the BEd category, while 41 appeared in the MEd category. The tests were held on Sunday last amidst protest and boycott by a number of teachers, who opposed the newly introduced system.

According to data released by the Education Department, 194 BEd category and 39 MEd category cleared the test. Pass percentage for BEd and MEd categories remained 89 and 95 respectively.

First three position holders in the merit lists are as follows:

BED TEACHERS: Arif Hussain (Karachi), first, Mohammad Sharif Memon (Hyderabad), second, Mohammad Zahid (Karachi), second, Rizwan Wajid (Karachi), third and Nusrat Jabeen (Sukkur),third.

MED TEACHERS: Seema Zahid (Karachi), first, Abdur Rahim Memon (Hala), second and Naimatullah (Larkana), third.
